Spiritual Development
Spirituality has always been a hip thing to talk about, but often it
is confused with religion. Be careful however because the two are not
necessarily one and the same. Spirituality is a state of being as opposed
to a short, or long, list of obligations. Spirituality is experienced
from the inside, it is a consciousness.
Spiritual consciousness represents the religious aspect which lives
within all of us. It is the divine counterpart of the being and it takes
several lifetimes for only becoming conscious of the spiritual consciousness
within us, and many more to actually develop it.
What difference does it make whether you live according to spiritual
consciousness or not? When spiritual consciousness awakens inside of
you, you begin to recognize the beauty, the goodness, the wonder of life
that is within you. You discover you fortitude and your power of action
in the face of each choices you have to make and, best of all, you realize
that YOU DO HAVE the choice.
A great many people have followed a personal development path, especially
since the beginning of the new age era. However, only a few of them have
reached a state of spiritual consciousness. Many desperately want to
heal their body, their soul and their spirit without wondering about
spirituality or think that they are spiritual beings simply because they
have undertaken a personal development involving therapies, treatments
or alternative care. They only have the consciousness of the word 'spiritual',
not the consciousness of spiritual 'state' and much less of the spiritual
'action' and 'commitment'.
Spirituality is a constant commitment that must be renewed continually.
A consciousness of the self opened 24 hours a day. It is a questioning
of the self and a carefree concern about the discovery of self-perfection.
It is a thirst to become aware of our origins, of our possibilities and
of our spiritual powers, and acceptation of our state of Enlightenment.
Enlightenment is the result of a spiritual process. An individual who
consciously chooses spiritual development must become aware that he/she
is committing himself/herself to a path of enlightenment, the end of
the rebirth and death cycle.
