Hi Dennis, What can I say ? What a superb CD....... Congratulations It's really, really good, I have it almost worn out, it's played in the Stereo and in the car all the time. I have a good deal of Pierre's recordings and Dennis L's and Danny's and by the way you're no 'flat' yourself [perhaps you will now be inspired to put down some tracks of yourself?]. I have heard of R Dagenais and Matthew Johnson from the tapes of Pembroke. But they're all so good. I suppose it was easy for them to perform with Dennis Lanctôt doing the Piano...what a wizard... it's a joy to hear what he does and how he compliments all the players and the pieces. "Dennis The Fiddlemaker"—This new CD is, in my view, one of the best releases in some time. Dennis Alexander has been working on a project to have a number of fiddlers who own one of his hand-made violins play a variety of tunes and put all of this on one CD. There are guest performances by Denis Lanctôt, Rhonda Lanctôt, Danny O'Connell, Pierre Schryer, Rob Dagenais, and many others. Denis did the piano accompaniment, and he is at his very best on this CD. The liner notes are interesting, including notes on the fiddles, the fiddlers' choice of strings, and other details.
