The small Justin had come back from school so happy. Father Emile had kept his promiss to bring the whole class to visit the Château Frontenac and to take a ride on the funicular. What a joy! Five more days to wait.
However the following day, Justin was in bed with fever. He hoped to be well for the excursion. Nevertheless, the days were going by and Justin was not getting better. On the eve of the big day, his health had degraded and found himself with pimples all over his body : he had chickenpox. Justin was so disappointed.

The day of the excursion, Justin was looking through the window and watching for his friends to arrive on St-Peter Street.

He was patiently waiting and suddenly saw the two Misses Lauzier having their daily stroll, walking down Sous-Le-Fort Street towards St-Peter Street. They were well known by everybody. They hated kids and always managed to annoy them every wednesday afternoon, as Justin and his buddies knew very well.

Justin and his companions had also noticed that Sister Ann and Father Emile were walking their respective pupils the same day, and were always smiling at each other. They must have been in love, thought Justin and must certainly was the reason for the two ill-natured women to stroll along there in particular, on wednesday afternoon, to scrounge whatever they could.
Justin was cheered to a great extent when he saw his buddies outside preparing to fire snowballs towards the two Misses walking by. This was meant to entertain their mutual sick friend who was watching the action by his window.
