It is in Southbridge, (Mass.) that he marries Marguerite Lamothe on July 18,
1865.
He works at many trades: mason, joiner, carpenter and even cabinetmaker.
In the spring of 1881 he comes back to his native country to settle on lot 21B
of row 4 in Dudswell County. The lot, which borders the Quebec Central Railroad
between Weedon and Marbleton, in the Eastern Townships, is then only accessible
by rail.
He clears this lot with his only son Honoré, jr.
