Honoré jr Beaulé
1870 - 1950
Honoré and
his father sell wood to the Quebec Central Railroad and bark
to another company to earn a living. During winter, they go work
in neighboring lumber camps.
Having cleared the land, they begin farming and raising animals. To expand family
holdings. they buy adjacent land.
Very
soon, Honoré takes charge of the family farm. Barely 19,
he marries Euphémie Pâtry on October 15, 1889 in
the parish of St. Janvier de Weedon. Honoré liked to recall
his wedding day to his grandchildren, by telling them: "We
did our honeymoon trip on foot...on the railroad tracks from
Weedon to Marbleton."
Honoré was
also involved in parish movements. He worked very hard to promote
the establishment of schools in the area.
Honoré and Euphémie had twelve children (Joseph, Marie-Louise,
Sara, Georges, Louis, Régina, Zéphirina, Bertha, Alfred, Marie-Louise,
Marie-Anne, Pierre). Joseph and Marie-Louise were born in the log cabin by the
railroad tracks. In 1893 Honoré built a new house adjacent to row #4.
In the above list we find two "Marie-Louise". The first was born in
1892 and died in 1901. The second lived from 1904 to 1993. Régina was
born in 1898 and died in 1899.
In the adjoining photo we see in back: Zéphirina, Alfred and Bertha, in
front: Marie-Louise, Pierre and Marie-Anne.
