Carly Sheridan retains a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University, majoring in interdisciplinary studies Carly was able to merge her dance major with aerial acrobatics. Her experience in this program was very unique, Concordia being one of the only two Canadian faculties offering a program of this genre, Carly was selected as one of the 15 participating members among over 300 portfolio auditioned candidates. During her studies Carly also completed a minor in art history and worked on various mixed media projects, installations and projections involving physical theater. While studying Carly also worked full and part time for the office of the Governor General as an art guide, responsible for showcasing, documenting and interpreting the extensive collection of Canadian art at Rideau Hall, the home and workplace of the Governor General. She also attended Ryerson Polytechnic University, were she studied modern dance/ballet/theater. Prior to her university studies Carly studied theater at the Ottawa school of Speech and Drama, and obtained dance teaching certifications from the British Association of Teachers Dancing. At a young age she was also trained as a gymnast. After graduating from Concordia Carly began to work on various solo and group projects. She traveled extensively performing her aerial strap solo and working with the Trio Trapeze for companies like Cirque Fantastic, Les gens d'air and Neil Goldberg's Cirque. Carly is currently performing with Cirque du Soleil, as an aerialist for the production of Varekai.
