| What is GUNBOAT DIPLOMACY
Not all guns went silent at the Eleventh Hour of 11/11/1918. Colonial
units would spend years to stem tribal rebellions from the mountains of
Afghanistan to the sands of French Morroco. Their planes would soon
enforce that old GUNBOAT DIPLOMACY to prevent empires from crumbling !
As Western air forces enjoyed War Games and Summer Camps, nations would
clash over the Chaco or over China, until the Spanish Civil War became
that grim dress reharsal of days to come…
Gunboat Diplomacy is the Warbirds module showing the dogfights and the
air to ground combats from 1919 to 1940. Focused mostly on the “golden
era” of biplanes, it begins with the first post-war designs to enter
service (Nieuport NiD-29) and ends with the coming of stunning new
designs, early Messerschmitts and Zeroes.
