What is OVER THE YALU
In 1950 the Democratic People's Republic of Korea attempted to take control of the southern part of the Korean peninsula.
Very soon piston engined aircrafts from North-Korea and US tangled in dogfight reminescent of World War II.
USAF and US Navy jets patroled the sky and conducted air-to-ground attacks.
Then on the 8 november of 1950 things changed: four USAF's F-80C entered a dogfight with six chinese MiG-15 over the Yalu.
The shape of air combat was forever changed.
The air component of this war showed with success that jet engined aircrafts should be part of every air force.
Two years before a new air war erupted over the Holy Land. The newborn
Israeli Air force engaged the air forces of Syria and Egypt.
RAF aircrafts were even downed by Israeli Spitfires.
