Here's my review of Playboy's "Best of Strip Search" video.
This video utterly failed to impress me as a fine example of striptease artistry. Nothing was really new or exceptional. If you want an exemplar of good PB video erotic dancing, check out Lisa Marie Scott on "Rising Stars and Sexy Starlets." Even the most artistic segment of BSS, featuring fluorescent paints and black light, has nothing over similar performances by Kimberly Donley or Rebecca Feratti in the VidCals.
Where BSS did incite some degree of facination was as a docudrama, giving us a brief glimpse into the psyche of strippers. The models perhaps say it best themselves. One model began her [micro] interview topless. However another model handed her a top and chided, "Honey, we don't show our cookies for free!!" Another model bragged, "At 22, I make more money than the typical career woman at 40." Sometimes the point was made without words. The camera lingers over handfuls of dollar bills stuffed into garters. Other times the camera catches a lap dancer with a "Ho-Hum, just another day at the office" expression on her face.
One model tried to put a brave face on the whole thing by admitting she *sometimes* gets turned on. Another expresses relief that not all her customers were zombies, some graced her with sincere smiles.
In summary, BSS is a bust as art or erotica but does hold some psychological interest. When push comes to shove, it'll probably find a home in my "pan pile."
P.S. Check out the newly released flick "Con Air." Fairly generic as a "shoot'em blow'em up" kind of movie, its dark morbid sense of humor makes it a winner!
