2nd Period - Austrian and German Production

Before the First World War, Austria and Germany produced large numbers of commemorative and souvenir pieces for the Canadian market, some decorated with Cobalt blue borders and gilding as well as many utility and tableware pieces, adorned with the arms of the Dominion of Canada.

 

A porcelain factory, probably in Carlsbad, Bohemia, Austria, produced this white and Cobalt blue utilitary tableware bearing the portrait of  Queen Victoria and the arms of six Canadian provinces, c.1900.

Gemma, Austria, miniature toy tea set in its original box. The tea set includes the teapot, creamer, sugar and two cups with saucers with the Royal Arms and a tea tray with the arms of the Dominion of Canada, c. 1905.
