2nd Period - Wedgood Basalt, Jasper and Tableware

The Wedgwood Company produced an enormous quantity of souvenir, utility and tableware for the Canadian market from 1900 on. The production for Canada continues to this day, but the richest,  most colourfull and most elaborate production  was from the beginning of the 20th Century to the 1920s. Basalt ware and dip blue or solid jasper ware with white modelled arms were Wedgwood's material of choice for tea sets or objects of a more whimsical nature (candlsticks, jugs, flower-pot holders, match or toothpick  holders, etc.). Full  tableware services with acorn borders were also manufactured  between 1903 and 1910. The production included also souvenir plates.
