4th Period -
Adderley,
Crown Ducal, Elizabethan, Royal Albert, Royal Doulton, Royal Stafford, Royal
Windsor, Wade and Other English Companies
In the first two decades
after the Second World War, many English companies produced souvenirs and
tableware for the Canadian market, particularly for the Maritime Provinces. Tea sets and
plates illustrated with provincial arms, tartans and landmarks were the most common. Other
companies created commemorative china to mark special occasions in various provinces, but the production of miniatures
virtually disappeared.
