The Team Strategic Planning Process is a systematic planning process designed to provide the management team with a structure and a comprehensive methodology to help manage change. It consists of two separate team planning meetings lead by a facilitator, with a period of research and cost/benefit analysis in between the planning sessions. Some examples of the changing circumstances which could necessitate team strategic planning are: a new CEO wants to bring his/her team together; a business is growing very fast; a company goes public; companies merge; one family generation takes over the management from the previous generation. It is a fact that 71% of current business owners expect to retire over the next 10 years, but fewer than 5% have succession plans. HGSG can help your company create a succession plan and guide you through the succession planning process by outlining how, when and to whom the business can be transferred or sold. HGSG can also assist in the areas of hiring, training and developing individuals for key roles. Proactive succession planning will enable you to find the best match and most lucrative result for transferring ownership.
If an organization is contemplating a significant change such as the relocation of its business, the development of a new product line, the purchase or development of major new assets, or some other important investment decision, it most likely will undertake a feasibility study to determine the resulting costs and benefits and the likelihood that it will be able to achieve its intended objectives and obtain the required financing. HGSG will complete the feasibility study and provide its “Stop” or “Go” recommendation together with appropriate alternatives, if appropriate.
Typically after an organization receives a “Go” recommendation with regard to the feasibility of a project, it will proceed to the business plan phase if the project requires outside financing from financial institutions or investors. HGSG can help your company create a comprehensive business plan, including the all-important marketing plan and financial plan components which are the main focus of most investors. Also, as we have done for existing clients, we can find and negotiate suitable financing required to fund the project.
