THE RICHERS FROM ENGLAND
*
I found at least two Richers who were originally
from England and settled in Canada. John Edward Richer married Edith Emma
Chamberlain on the first of January 1880 in Toronto. He was 32 years old and
was born in the Yorkshire. His parents were Ebenezar and Anna Richer. He was a
Methodist. Born in London, Edith was 23. Her parents were Charles and Mary
Chamberlain. The marriage took place in an Anglican Church.
John Robert Richer married Edith Elstub on
April 30, 1907 in Toronto. He was 23 years old and native of England. His
parents were Walter Richer and Ann Cook. Edith was also born in England. Her
parents were Robert Elstub and Mary Ann Schofield. Both John and Edith belonged
to the Methodist Church.
I would like to find out about their
descendants and also their European background. Still I doubt if there is a
link with our family since in France our name was Héricher or Le Héricher.
