You probably already heard of sexologists or sex-therapists but like many others, you have very little information on the nature of their work. You are probably asking yourself if these profesionals could be of any help to you...

Let me start by describing you briefly what constitutes the education and training background of the sexologist (as recognized here in Quebec, CANADA). :

Obtaining a first cycle university diploma (bachelor's degree) is the basic education level in sexology. The professional with this diploma will have the title: Sexologist-Educator or Sex-Educator, B.A. and has a 3 year university education background.

In order to become a clinical sexologist and psychotherapist, M.A., the professional will have to hold a second cycle university diploma (master's degree). This involves an additionnal 2 year university education, primarely focused on clinical work.

It is of great importance to me to underline that the best possible way to deal with our sexual difficulties is without a doubt, to consult a qualified professional in the field of sexology... Face to face sessions are the most profitable and the investment is worth it. But, certain people consider themselves too timid to confide in a third person their sexual difficulties and are embarassed to admit that they cannot get rid of their problems themselves.
