Gestalt is an
existential-humanist approach in psychotherapy. It places its faith in each
individual’s potential to change and take responsibility for her of his life.
It stresses the importance of interconnections between various parts of each person’s
life, of seeing the whole picture and of achieving closure, in the here and
now, with regard to unfinished business.
Object-relations
is a type of psychodynamic psychotherapy based on the belief that the main
driving force of each human is to form bonds with others. It sees interpersonal
relationships as crucial to the development of identity and personality. It
aims at helping individuals better understand how they experience relationships
within themselves, how they distort them and attempt to reproduce these
distortions in real relationships.
