Trout River

Located on the southern edge of Gros Morne National Park, the quaint fishing village known as Trout River has a population of less than 700. Though fishing is now only a fraction of what it has already been, you can still witness the daily bustle of activity at the Fishermen's Wharf.

I found a special atmosphere at Trout River. At least there was on this cloudy and windy day. I linger a bit, but all too soon need to start heading back.

I understand the economic realities that dictate the development of tourism. And yet, as I sit peacefully on the boardwalk, I can only be thankful that this area has yet to be discovered by the hoards of tourist buses.
