Experience Newfoundland

Lomond River - Trout River: Part 5

picture of Bonne Bay, Newfoundland - southern coast

By the time I return to the Lomond River Lodge, I'm well satiated.

A quick bit of laundry using the on-site facilities (so convenient when you're traveling) and then I'm off for a relaxing walk down the banks of the Lomond River. The trail that winds its way alongside the river is just 50 feet or so behind my lodging. It’s a nice long walk through meadows and forest. For anyone observant, there's a variety and abundance of unique wild flower species.

I stop and chat with several fly fishermen.

After a day in the saddle, the rushing sound of the Lomond River is quite soothing. By the time I get back, I've worked up an appetite and am off for dinner.

It may have been sunny a few minutes ago, but things change quickly. This is cloud, not fog. The descent ahead is shrouded in cloud!

It's difficult to maintain momentum when I'm always stopping for a picture.

I love the way clouds hug the mountainside
