Teknic
Sprint
riding pants 2000 model
product review
Description:
All-weather protective motorcycle riding
pants
Colors: black
MSRP: $179us $249 cdn
I chose these motorcycle
riding pants at the same time that as the
Hurricane jacket.
Criteria used in
selection:
- above average
impact protection
- good abrasion
protection
- excellent weather
protection
The Sprint cordura
motorcyle riding pants use Teknic's
waterproof/windproof /breathable
POWERSKIN membrane and feature a
removable thermal liner. Impact
protection is provided by effective
dual-density padding on the hips and hard
shell armor at the knees. In addition,
there are inner pockets allowing the use
of additional armor to cover the shin
area. Leg zippers are knee-high. For
additional protection there is a double
layer of cordura in the seat and at the
knees.
In use:
By adding or removing the
thermal liner, the Teknic Sprint pants
remain comfortable over a wide
temperature range.
Though I have come to
question how breathable the Powerskin
membrane is (especially in warmer temps),
one thing has become clear: These
motorcycle riding pants have remained
utterly waterproof in the nastiest and
sustained bad riding weather that I've
encountered.
I have used them during
all my motorcycle rides since 2000. They
have never leaked once. Anywhere. A solid
performance, considering that I ride a
CBR929 that offers relatively limited
protection from the elements.
That's my experience.
