EastSound CD-E5 installation of replacement transport

Photo #1: New Philips VAM 1202/12 transport is ready to be
installed in the CD-E5 after removal
of the 8 hex screws on top cover.

Photo #2: View of top without cover.
Notice the red arrow pointing at a small hole in the base.
The rear plastic protrusion in the back of the transport will fit in there (see
photo #6). Leave the
cable that connects the power supply circuit board to the main circuit board as
is. The transport
will go on top.

Photo #3: These are the 3 screws with
locking washers that will go through the holes pointed
out in picure #4. The rubber washers will go through the screws in the bottom of
the transport.
The 3 rubber washers per screw were used for the sake of illustration only. Your
transport may
require fewer washers for each screw. More on that later.

Photo #4: Tray extended fully and screws
with washers ready to be put in indicated holes. You
most probably have to use long nose tweezers to be able to seat the screws
properly in their
holes. I've tried by hand and it's just about impossible to do. Once the screws
are in place turn
the transport on its side. Rubber washers are applied in the next step.
