What is MoonlightTorrent? Nothing particularly fancy, I wanted a small, more efficient and hopefully more reliable client coded in C++ to test some programming ideas with and be among the first to have a novelty (from the ground up) C++ BT client.
Sections:
- ~512KB stand-alone executable file size.
- Loads almost instantaneously
- System requirements as of 0.2.0.0:
- ~12MB baseline RAM usage after the first torrent is added.
- ~2MB per torrent extra RAM usage.
- Drag&Drop .torrent files on the GUI to start transfers.
- Future versions will eventually support .torrent link drag&drop and clipboard monitoring.
<par>Note: yes, I know, the blue piece marking from the peer and file pages makes it look like an Azureus rip... I was experimenting with colouring to see if I could find something that would smoothly blend as the bars are resized to less than 1:1 pixel/piece... and somehow, nothing every other color I tried simply sort of felt out of place.</par> <par>BTW, if you were about to ask about the XX0000, this is simply a temporary version string since I do not want MT's real signature to get banned as a leech client - my current builds are still download-only.</par>
For historic / sentimental reasons or simply for reference, here are some shots from MT01xx:
