Sculptor Nangi was born in Montreal in 1968. She discovered an interest and talent for art at the age of eight. She used to sculpt faces in apples, letting these dry to give them the appearance of elderly people. Her paternal grandparents were also sculptors, they were wood artisans.
Nangi ends her studies in plastic art at the Rimouski College in 1995. Later she joined a foundry to acquire some moulding and casting techniques.
Her first large-scale sculpture was the bust of her deceased grandmother. Nangi discovered then all her sculptor’s potential.
Nangi ‘s artistic approach consists of giving the impression to the owner of the art that the character is part of their everyday life.
She learned her art on her own, it’s called alto-relief sculpture. Nobody teaches this form of art.
Nangi ‘s work is always representative of the grace and sensuality of the human body, with always an eroticism note. |
