Descending puttA golfer has asked me if I knew of some tricks to slown down the roll of the ball on descending putts! Like or dislike, when we have a descending putt, we are at the mercy of the speed of the green and the angle of the given downhill putt. This being said, we can certainly make a few adjustments that can potentially help us. I suggest 2 modifications: the first one to your grip: lower your hands on the handle, it will help reduce the back stroke. The second one is to make sure to contact the ball with the tip of the putter blade. Do not forget to practice these modifications in order to judge the effects and calibrate your motion. Roll it in! |
