about an important fire
Two Gabriel
and Mathurine's children died
On August 28, 1656, a
fire destroyed his house and his two children
died under the debris. Jean, the youngest, a 18 month old
baby, had been baptized in Quebec.
The mother, Mathurine
Leroux, 20 years old, was pregnant with a son
born in November who received the name of Jean. Five
boys ensured the posterity
