The
desire to paint, draw, create is, and has always been, a passion of mine.
Colour and form fascinate me as well as what happens when you pour, mix,
and layer paint. Shapes emerge from layers of colour and I then work with
all of the elements until a piece of work evolves that pleases me. It is
usually a surprise, nothing expected. Contemporary would be the closest
description of my work and I hope that these pieces make the viewer think,
or at least dream.
Originally from Quebec, Beverly moved to Calgary in 1999, and
has recently returned home to Dorval. She
showed an early interest in art and this continued through school years,
taking care of family, and a successful business career. Bev studied
traditional art forms and took various workshops at McGill, Ecole des
Beaux-Arts, as well as tutelage with one of Lismer’s protégées.
Beverly continually experiments with mediums and techniques and although her
work is both contemporary and figurative, it attracts traditional buyers as
well. She works in oils, acrylics, charcoal, watercolours, and oil sticks.
Private collectors as well as corporations in Quebec, Europe, Alberta, and
the U.S.A. have purchased her work.
