How to play to TCPoker
Poker Vocabulary :
- Act : To do something when it's your turn (check, call, raise or fold).
- Ante : A bet you have to do to get your cards (the dealer choose the ante and you can't raise the ante).
- Bet : To bet is to put money in the pot. You can only bet an amount of money which is a multiple of the smallest chips. For example, if the smallest chips are 5$ chips, you can only bet 5$, 10$ or, 15$ ...
- Call : To call is to match the current bet (the minimal bet).
- Check : A 0$ bet (you don't fold).
- Fold : To abandon your hand. If a player fold, he won't be able to play until the end of the hand and he won't be able to win the pot even if he has the best hand.
- Limit : You can't raise more than the limit. For example, if the limit is 100$ and you need to bet 20$ to call, you can't bet more than 120$.
- Raise : To increase the amount of the bet. For example, if a player needs to bet 5$ to call and he bet 25$, that mean that he has raised of 20$.
How to create a game: :
If you want to play a game, someone has to create a server :
- Start TCPoker Server.

A Spade will appear in your taskbar.

Go in the Information window of your server (by double clicking on the Spade) to get your IP adress.
- Tell your IP adress to all the others players.
- Join the game like the others players have to (section after this).

Once some players had join the game, you can get information about them (in the Information window) by double clicking on their nicknames in the list or, by selecting them and clicking on Information.

You can also kick some players of your game. You have to select the player in the list and click on Kick.

If you want to stop the game, you can :

Right click on the Spade and click on Exit.

Or go in the Information window, go in the menu File and click on Exit.
How to join a game: :
First of all, the join a game, someone has to create a game (the section before this one).
- Start TCPoker Client.

Choose a nickname.

Enter the IP adress of the person who create the game (this person has to tell what it is).

Click on "OK" :

If everything is correct, your nickname and the nicknames of the others players (if there is some others players) will appear.

If you didn't enter the good IP adress, this error window will appear.
The Game :

Before the beginning of an hand :
Once you join a game, the dealer will start with an hourglass on the upper left of is nickname :
- If you are the dealer, you have to choose the ante and then, you will be able to start the game as soon as at least one other player join the game.
- If you are not the dealer, you will have to wait for the dealer to choose the ante and start the game.

Anting Round :
Every players (except the dealer who had already bet) have to call the ante or fold, the first player is the one to the left of the dealer. Then, it's the turn of the player to his left. After this, all the players will receive their cards.

First betting round :
Once the players have their cards, the first betting round start. The first player to act is the player at the left of the dealer, he can check or bet. The round end once everybody has acted at least once and when everybody has bet the same amount of money.

Cards changing :
This is the moment where you can change you cards. Every players can change their cards one after another, the first player to the left of the dealer is the first who can change his cards. A player can change his cards only once and he doesn't have to change any card.

Last betting round :
The last betting round is exactly like the first betting round.

Showdown :
The showdown is where the players show their hand to know who wins the hand. The first player to show is hand is the last player who raise (or the last player who put money in the pot, this is the same player). Then, it's the turn of the player to is left, but he won't show is hand if is hand is weaker (since he can't win anymore).
