YULspotter’s Webpage

Hello and welcome to my webpage.

I created this webpage so that I can share my passion of aviation with others.

I am what is called an “Airplane Spotter”.  Airplane Spotters like going to airports and watching airplanes.  Some like myself also enjoy photographing and filming them.  The pictures you see on the right hand side of the webpage are pictures that I have taken while enjoying this hobby.

Most Airplane Spotters regularly go to the airport to watch planes (such as once a week).  Their equipment includes binoculars, a list of airport arrivals/departures, a scanner (to listen in on pilot and air traffic control conversations), a camera and a ladder.

Airplane Spotters are very passionate about aviation and as a result they are very knowledgeable.  If you ever go to watch the airplanes and want to know more, just look for us.  We’ll be easy to identify as we will likely have more than one of the items I listed above.

I have taken many pictures and videos during my airplane spotting at YUL.  Some of the best ones can be found on the following two websites (click the blue underline link to visit the website).

My pictures on Photobucket

Photobucket is where I upload many of my pictures that I want to share with others.

My pictures on Jetphotos

JetPhotos is a site where aviation photographers can upload their pictures.  All photos must go through a screening process and only high quality pictures are accepted.  Therefore, my best pictures appear here.

My videos on YouTube

I use YouTube to upload and share my videos of airplanes.  I currently have close to 200 airplane videos posted on YouTube.  If you really like my videos on YouTube, you can subscribe to my channel.  By subscribing, YouTube will notify you by e-mail whenever I upload a new video.  I usually upload one or two new videos a week.  My older videos feature advertising on the page but newer ones do not.  I like to keep my videos ad free for a period of a month so that subscribers can enjoy them as is.

So you may be asking, who, what, where and why is “YULspotter”?

Who is YULspotter?

I am an aviation enthusiast who enjoys taking pictures & videos of airplanes whenever I can.

What is YULspotter?

Well, that would be the name I use to identify myself as well as my pictures & videos on the Internet.  YUL is the airport code for Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport.   Spotter is a term given to someone who goes out and watches something for the sheer pleasure of it.  For example, there are those who like to watch trains and they are called Train Spotters (I would be a plane spotter).

Where is YULspotter?

Since I live in Montreal, most of my pictures and videos are from Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport.   This is the province of Quebec’s busiest airport and the third busiest in Canada.  When I travel, I do try and get pictures & videos from other airports as well.

Why does YULspotter spot?

Kind of a strange question, but I figure people may be curious as to why I do what I do.  To put it simply, I really enjoy photographing and filming airplanes and sharing my work with others who will also appreciate it.  I guess you can say that I photograph & film airplanes for the same reasons people photograph & film celebrities.
